The Last Snicker Bar---the poem

(Ed.note: I found this little ditty in a rumpled up ball of paper in an old Toyota Corolla in a local junkyard. Just thought I would share.)


They
headed out
to
Phoenix
21
free
married
with a
job
loaded Toyota
and some
munchies

Some
tears the
first few
miles
then
the road
settled in
cool night
driving
miles
blurred

Somewhere
in the
desert
the facts
aren't
clear
the testimony
unsworn
the munchies
were gone
only a
snickers bar
remained

They
agreed to
split
the snickers
even
steven
bite for
bite
Over the
years
noone
knows who
got the
extra bite

Over the years
we
wonder
who got
the extra
bite
When I
ask
they
just
smile
